Putting on a Show
I design for the girl who walks into the room and changes the energy. The “it” girl, the standout girl, the one who doesn’t have to ask for attention because it naturally finds her. I create more than costumes; my work must tell a story and command attention. I bring my ideas to life through texture, movement, craftsmanship, and detail. Every design is made to amplify her presence and make her feel like the moment, whether she’s stepping into Carnival, a party, or anywhere she intends to put on a show.
VISION
My vision starts with a love for the woman’s body and the beauty of its curves. Every now and then I give the men some love too. I’m driven by a desire to be inventive, to reinvent the ordinary and transform familiar ideas into something unexpected. I draw from my foundation in carnival while bringing in my fashion sensibility, merging the two to create costumes that feel both expressive and elevated.
CRAFT
The magic is in the making. I work with wire by bending, shaping, and sculpting it by hand, turning a simple material into structure, movement, and form. Every curve is intentional, every shape carefully considered, and every piece built to complement the vision of the costume and bring ideas to life.
STORY
Every piece has a story to tell. I use design as a way to turn ideas, experiences, and inspiration into something that can be seen, felt, and experienced. My work is rooted in the storytelling tradition of carnival, where costume becomes a character and every detail contributes to the narrative. I want each piece to make you curious, to invite you in, spark your imagination, and leave you with something to remember.
CULTURE
My work is deeply rooted in Trinidad and Tobago and the culture of Carnival. Carnival taught me to see costume as more than something you wear. It’s a celebration of identity, creativity, freedom, and expression. I carry that foundation into everything I create, blending the spirit and energy of mas with my own fashion sensibility to create work that honors, my home.
